Abstract:

Abstract:Shale gas is now showing a bright future in China’s energy development. However, shale gas development may bring
environmental problems and destroy sustainable human development. In the context of ecological civilization construction, we
must first understand the significance of shale gas development in improving energy structure, reducing environmental pollution
and in energy conservation. On the other hand, we must also face the environmental problems related to shale gas development
like excessive consumption of water resources, air pollutions and earthquakes. Therefore, in order to make more efficient
use of China’s shale gas resources, we must raise consciousness of environmental protection, innovate green technology and
strengthen national regulations on environmental supervision.
